Discrete events represent things that happen at identifiable points in time.

Continuous processes represent things that change through time.

Agent-Based Modeling

Agents represent entities that behave within the system. They move, interact, make decisions, and respond according to their state, environment, rules, and capabilities.

Agent-based modeling is not AI.

TOKNITH's use of "agents" refers to agent-based modeling, not artificial intelligence agents. An agent is a modeled participant in the operation. A worker can be an agent. A forklift can be an agent. An AMR can be an agent. A patient can be an agent. A vehicle can be an agent. A robot can be an agent.

Their behavior is part of the operational model. AI may eventually operate on top of TOKNITH. That is a separate capability. The underlying model does not require AI to be valid.
